Is the executor of an estate in Texas legally bound to distribute the estate?
The executor of my mother's estate, my sister, refuses to sell the property & distribute the proceeds to the rightful heirs. Is she violating the law?

- She has to follow the will. Call your Attorney General in Texas and ask what to do. They are a wealth of information and know everything in my opinion.
- Check the will. Otherwise she has complete control over the estate. She is the executor, so the law has to stand by her decisions. Of course that gives her complete responsibilities toward the estate, like the taxes? Maintenance? Unseen matters hidden in the background. She is completely responsible for it all.
- Your Sister is bound by the terms of the will. If there is no will, she must liquidate the holdings of the deceased and distribute it equally to all the heirs.
- yes...according to the will.
