What does it say about Conservative values when a Senator who hired professional sex workers is favored to win?

Senator David Vitter who ran on family values and was later found to have been involved with prostitutes is currently the Republicans hope for Louisiana's Senate seat? Recently some Republicans called Sen Mary Landrieu a Prostitute. Does the Republican party agree that prostitutes in a persons resume is just fine and dandy? Do Conservatives still back Vitter? What does it take to NOT qualify as a Conservative Republican running for US Senate these days?

When a perfectly honest and respectable Democrat or Independant has no chance against a lying, cheating Conservative, it's a pretty sad state of affairs!
