Why is the United States shifting from equal justice to social justice?
Why are we shifting from equal justice were every human being has certain inalienable rights of life liberty and property to social justice where no one has any such right but where people are judged based on the group that they are part of? How did this happen and how do we fix it?

- "...and justice for all" is rather vague.
- Because communists are currently in charge of Congress. That will be changing in the midterm elections though. :)
- We've become too comfortable living here is America... we've taken our rights for granted, and now their are being attacked, and not enough people have their eyes open to see it... As to social justice being pushed so much, blame the people who are unwilling to pull their own load, or want to blame the system for their lack of success...
- Political Correctness brought all of this about, thanks to the lovely workings of the ACLU. ALL individuals are EQUAL. As it stands now, though, people who belong to certain groups have more protection under the law, ala "Hate Crimes" Legislation. Aren't all crimes motivated by some kind of hatred? Why would the murder of one person be held to a higher level of accountability for the perpetrator than the murder of another? People don't really seek equality in America anymore--they seek preferential treatment.
- The greedy rich spoiled it for you. That's so sad.
- Because we are being converted to socialism. We can fix it by requiring our leaders to follow the constitution. Obama doesn't like the constitution and is looking for ways around it. I think he'd just as soon throw it away. Hopefully we'll be allowed to vote him out in 2012, if he doesn't change the rules by then.
