How to distribute flyers to your neighborhood?
Hey, I'm 13, and have just started a local mowing business, and I have made a bunch of flyers/Order forms. I want to give them out to my neighborhood, but I just found out it's illegal to put them in mailboxes. How should I distribute them? Should I just put them in the mailbox anyway? Please help! Thanks!

- Hey, im 13 too and i had a problem like this too but with babysitting :P What I did was tape them to the sides of mail boxes, light posts and I rolled it up and put it at the peoples from door. Hope that helps :)
- If you put them in mailboxes anyway, all it takes is ONE person to get mad about it and report it. Think about it, you will have your name and phone number on those flyers, so the post office can find you easily. It's a federal offense. So don't do it. What you can do is ask to leave a stack of flyers at local markets and restaurants. Chain restaurants usually won't let you, but local eateries might let you. This way, only people who are interested in your service will take a flyer, so that saves you a lot of money. You can also try leaving flyers at gyms. Never, ever leave flyers unless you've asked for permission from whoever owns the place. Oh, and most cities have laws against posting flyers and notices on light posts and telephone wires, too. The best way to get advertising is to do an excellent job, and ask your customers to recommend you to their friends. Word of mouth is the cheapest but most effective form of advertising. But if you do a poor job, then your customers will also tell their friends...but they'll tell them to stay clear of you.
