What is there to do on a vacation in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania?
I am going on vacation to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in March, around the 16th. I am 21 and I am going with my friend who is 20 and my mom who is 50. Does anyone have any suggestions of fun things to do while we are there since we have never been before? Thanks! The Kennywood sounded like something good to do the only problem is it doesn't open until May and we are going in March :o( We live in Illinois and the reason for picking Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is because we don't have the money to fly anywhere and it is about the closest thing to us that sounds like there would be anything to do...

- Yes...I live nearby, and when company comes from out of state....they insist we take them to Kennywood. Its an amusement park and quite impressive!. They also have the normal attractions most other larger cities have ie, Zoo, theater, ballet, symphonies etc etc enjoy your visit and buckle your seat belt!
- Nobody, and I mean nobody goes to PITTSBURG!! for vacation!! That's like going to Texas to snow ski!! If you are intent on going there then I would suggest: Ride the Duquesne or Monongahela Incline Carnegie museums Go to Kennywood - a couple of great roller coasters! The Thunderbolt is a great wooden roller coaster. I think there are 4 coasters there now. Take a dinner cruise on the river. There you go. I hope you have fun - really!! Why don't you try Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. There is a lot to do there, even in March, and it's probably about the same distance as Pittsburgh. I guarantee it's much prettier than the Steel City!!
